Every year, this New York City-based institution plays in over one hundred venues worldwide to honor the magnificent 5,000 years of Chinese culture through captivating ethnic music and dance. Each exhibition features twenty sections split into 2 to 3 electrifying vocal and instrumental solos, as well as 17 to 18 elaborate dance routines dressed in sublimely vibrant outfits. Shen Yun — the globe's best dance organization — has confirmed this year’s calendar of performances connecting dozens of North America’s most distinguished venues, including the Concert Hall at the BJCC on Sunday 16th March 2025!

Long before the age of Communism, FIVE THOUSAND years of culture, legends, and arts thrived in each curve of China's mainland, and year after year, the New York-based Shen Yun breathes life into these enduring treasures for all to enjoy! 2025 is no exception.
Divine beings walking across the land. Infinite fields of grass roamed by hordes of Mongolian nomads. And battlefield heroism of lionhearted warriors. Shen Yun’s seasonal performances center around the innumerable myths and parables that spanned China’s empires, imaginatively depicting their romances and tragedies with teachings from Taoist and Buddhist beliefs to round up each tale.
The upcoming presentation will feature twenty story sections of otherworldly performances in about 2 hours. Professionally trained dancers dressed in strikingly vibrant costumes will flutter through the floor, narrating the event’s stories with 17 or 18 complex folk dance sequences. Additionally, 2 to 3 instrumental and vocal solos will intersperse these phases with soaring harmonies — both original and traditional.
A live band will play rousing music throughout the show, seamlessly uniting Chinese and Western instrumentation. In terms of staging, Shen Yun utilizes a state-of-the-art digital background to project life-like scenarios, pulling guests into the realm of China before Communism in a sensational fashion.
For the tour’s pit stop in Birmingham, Alabama, the premier Concert Hall at the BJCC will open as host. Its renowned stage, graced by dozens of the past year’s hottest performers, will lay the foundation for the stunning event, further elevating it with clear sights, pristine light setups, and finely tuned sound systems.
